K2 Challan Khajane 2 – As online technology is slowly entering the Indian government systems, things are becoming very good and convenient. Based on this particular assumption, the Government of Karnataka has also launched an online portal called Khajana 2 or k2 Challan for treasury activities. Due to its immense success, the government soon upgraded the portal and named it Khajane 2.
The government has connected all the various treasury offices in the Karnataka state with a single server with the help of Portal Khajana 2. The purpose of having this portal is to get a treasury system in the state which is free from any kind of discrepancies.
K2 Challan or Khajana 2 - Features and Benefits
The portal is loaded with many features for Khajane 2 users. Some important features or functions that users can see in the portal are payments, deposits, pensions, returns, receipts, tickets, housekeeping, accounts, and maintenance.
The portal comes with many benefits due to which it became so popular. Here are some benefits that can be found in the portal.
- All the works of the treasury can be completed automatically through the portal.
- Not only the tasks were done automatically but the processes became much easier than before.
- The portal made options like making receipts and submitting details very easy.
- It also offered the benefit of smart tracking the details for various purposes.
K2 Challan Khajane 2 Registration Process
The portal of Khajane 2 is for Government employees of the Government of Karnataka only. Employees who wish to use the portal will have to register with it and first obtain a digital certificate. Once registered, the user ID and password remain with the employee until the person retires from a position.
But this does not mean that every employee of the state government can get access to the portal. The portal is only for the Chief Control Officer, Control Officer, Drawing and Disbursing Officer of the Financial Department, and others.
Users can register with the Treasury Officer in the District Treasury. DDO and other support should also be present for the registration process. Here are three important steps through which registration is done.
Step - 1 - First of all Form R1 and R2 have to be downloaded and filled manually. These forms can be downloaded from the link given below.
Step - 2 - The form has to be filled in with the required details and it should be taken to the District Treasury.
Step - 3 - After this, the user has to get the biometric enrollment process done at the treasury office itself.
Step - 4 - After this, the user has to complete a process to get a digital signature. For this, the user will have to download Form 7 again and submit it to the Treasury office. This form can be downloaded by

Pre-requisites to Login to K2 Challan or Khajane 2
To get registered to the portal, you have to provide your details to the Khajane officers at the District Treasury. Even if your registration is completed and you have received the username and password to log in, it is your primary registration.
Later on, if the officers such as DDO or others identify that you are not currently required to handle a certain responsibility; you should not use the login details of the portal.
Thus, Khajane 2 login is only for the users who are authorized to use the portal. If someone you have the login details but your officials have mentioned that you are not authorized to use the portal, you should not try to log into the portal.
K2 Challan or Khajane 2 Login
After you have got registered as a user for the Khajane portal, you can log into the portal using your username and password. Here are the steps that you have to follow in order to log into the portal.
- Visit the official portal of Khajane 2 by clicking on the link https://khajane2.karnataka.gov.in.
- On the homepage, as you scroll down, you will find the option of languages that is Kannada and English among which you can select the language in which you are comfortable.
- Now, you will find the option of two logins, one is DMS and the other one is IFMS. You have to click on the right one as per your requirement.
- A page will open up in a new browser where you have to provide your username and your password.
- Next, offer the captcha code that is displayed on the screen.
- Finally, click on the Sign In option.
If you have forgotten your password, follow these steps.
- You have to click on the option of Forgot Password on the login page.
- You will be redirected to a page where you have to provide your KGID and your mobile number.
- Now click on the option stating Generate OTP.
- Next, you have to provide the OTP that you must have received on your mobile number.
- Click on the option of Verify or Submit and soon you will get a new password on your mobile number.
Now, you can log in with this new password in your K2 Challan or Khajane 2 portal profile.
Things to Do after login to Khajane 2
After you have finally logged into the portal of Khajane 2, there are many options and functions that you can access.
- The very first thing that you can access is the Readiness part where you will find all the important details of how to do what on the portal.
- Next, you should find the option of circulars to get the latest notifications about treasury activities.
- Apart from this, you can access different functions such as bill preparation, bill submission, budget control, deposits, GST, PRI, and many others.
- You will also come across the option of Resources where you can find Frequently asked questions and other important information.
Khajane 2 – K2 Challan Generation Form
There are two options for Challan Generation on Khajane 2. One is the generation of Challan by citizens. The second one is the generation of challan by the DDOs.
There are only certain departments that have offered access to the citizens to general challan or remittance for the Government. This can be done by following these steps.
Step – 1 – Visit the portal through the link https://k2.karnataka.gov.in.
Step – 2 – On the homepage, click on the link of Services
Step – 3 – Now you have to click on the option of Generate Challan link to get the form.
Step – 4 – Here you have to fill in the details on the form.
Step – 5 – Now the right purpose for the Challan has to be selected.
Step – 6 – Next, you have to enter the amount and then have to click on the Add button.
Step – 7 – Next, you have to select the right payment mode.
Step – 8 – Follow the steps offered, depending upon the payment mode that you have selected.
Step – 9 – Finally, click on the submit option to generate the challan and take print of this screen.
Finally, the Challan will be raised and the money will be remitted to the required department.
Now under the option of Challan by DDOs, there are again two sub-categories. One is to generate Challan for self and the second one is to generate challan for the remitter or the citizen.
Here are the steps to follow if the DDO is generating the challan for Remitter.
Step – 1 – Visit https://khajane2.Karnataka.gov.in and click on the option Enter.
Step – 2 – Now select the option of Transactions from Challan.
Step – 3 – Now, click on the option of Generate Challan,
Step – 4 – Select the option of Remitter for which the date will automatically come up.
Step – 5 – Now enter the details of the remitter.
Step – 6 – After filling in all the details, click on the option of Add.
Step – 7 – If you need to edit or delete the challan, you will get the option at this stage.
Step – 8 – Now select the payment mode and follow the instructions depending upon the model that you have selected.
Step – 9 – After completing the payment, click on the option of Submit.
The Challan will be finally generated and you should take a print of it for future reference.
If the DDO is generating Challan for itself, the steps above will be the same. The only difference that will come up is that the DDO has to select the date manually, which otherwise appears automatically in the case of the remitter.
