In the whole body system kidney plays very major role, it not just filtering blood and taking out waste products but it is also balancing electrolyte’s levels in the body, stimulating red blood cell’s production, and controlling pressure of blood. Let’s know what is kidney failure.
In our whole body, kidneys are placed in the abdomen near the back, generally each side on spine. Kidney gets blood supply by renal arteries straight from the aorta and send blood back to the heart through renal veins to vena cava. The term, “renal” has derived from the Latin name “kidney.”
Normally kidneys have the capability to manage body fluid, the electrolytes concentrations such as potassium, and sodium, and the body’s acid-base balance. Kidneys filter waste elements of body metabolism such as uric from DNA breakdown and urea from protein metabolism. There are 2 waste products in the blood that can be measured such as creatinine and blood urea nitrogen.
The moment blood flows to the kidney, its sensors decide how the amount of water to defecate as urine with what electrolytes concentration. E.g. if the person is completely dehydrated because of exercise or because of illness then the kidneys will carry as much as water possible and the urine becomes really focused. When sufficient water is available in the body, the urine is much weaker and urine converts clear. This whole system is managed by renin; the hormone is created in the kidney, which is the blood pressure regulation structure and a fluid pat of the body.
Kidneys are too erythropoietin’s source in the body, a hormone that rouses the bone core to create red cell blood. The kidney’s special cells manage the oxygen concentration in blood. In case, level of oxygen fall, levels of erythropoietin arise and the body begins to make extra red blood cells.
After filter the blood of the kidney, the urine is defected by the ureter, a slim tube that links it to the bladder. After that it is preserved in the bladder pending urination, the moment the bladder sends the urine outer side of the body by the urethra.
When Kidney Fails

Causes of kidney failure
- Removed body fluid’s dehydration. E.g. diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and sweating.
- Because of blood loss “hypovolemia”
- Medication such as diuretics might cause to extra water loss
- Fewer intakes of fluids
- Unusual blood flow from and to kidney because of an obstacle of renal vein and artery.
